Metallurgist / Materials Science Services
Welcome to Forensic Engineering International (FEI).
We are a multi-discipline forensic metallurgy & materials engineering consulting firm specializing in failure analysis (fractures, failures, damage, corrosion) of metals & non-metals. FEI metallurgists and investigators have testified before U.S. Senate subcommittees, won a prestigious national award, and appeared on CBS '60 Minutes' and various foreign televised segments, in different matters.
Extensive FEI experience includes the mid-air explosion of TWA Flight 800 over Long Island, N.Y., other aviation disasters including the crash of UAL Flight 585 near Colorado Springs, CO; the nation's worst train derailment ('Sunset Limited') near Mobile, AL; Sudafed and Girl Scout Cookie product tampering; U.S.S. Iowa explosion, Wilberg Mine disaster, Sago Mine disaster, and the catastrophic scaffold collapse at the Willow Island, WV, nuclear power plant construction site.
The firm specializes in metallurgical failure analysis of products, components and systems from the most simple 'system' such as a step ladder or a hunter's tree stand, to complex ones, including a Phoenix missile guidance system and corrosion at a new utility plant in Cali, Colombia.
